Pokhara, Nepal Pokhara is known as the “Natural Capital” of Nepal, because of its astounding setting of extreme beautiful lakes with lush hills offering unique view of Himalaya. It is the third largest city in Nepal is also known as the gateway to the base camp Annapurna. Pokhara offers tourists the trekking tour which generally take up to 25 days of travel. 2. Khatmandu, Nepal Khatmandu is Nepal’s largest city and also capital of Nepal. Khatmandu is located in a valley in the heart of Nepal. It is famous tourist attraction because of many Buddhist temples, mostly from the 17th century, like the Khatmandu’s Durbar Square. 3. Nagarkot, Khatmandu Nagarkot, situated 32 km east of Khatmandu, is one of the most scenic spot in Bhaktapur District. The place famous for its spectacular sunrise view of the Himalaya when the weather is clear. Many visitors travel to Nagarkot from Khatmandu and stay overnight just because to witness and enjoy the breathtaking sunrise view of the snow-topped peaks of the Himalaya range, especially the world's most renowned Mount Everest. 4. Bodhnath Stupa, Khatmandu This is a Buddhist Temple worth visiting place and slightly away from the main part of Katmandu. The entrance fee of this temple is only 150 and when you go inside there are plenty of shops and cafes to relax and spend time enjoying the peaceful atmosphere as well. You can also walk on top of the stupa and go all the way around and get a view of monks and Buddhist people meditating and giving offerings which can be interesting. 5. Lumbini, Taulihawa Rd Lumbini, the place where Lord Buddha was born, is a popular destination for Buddhist pilgrims as well as visitors from many different parts of the world, and also is regarded as a symbol of peace and understanding in the world community. Lumbini, like the Buddha, stands peacefully and calm, away from the crowds of the cities, on the southern plains of the country, surrounded by forests. Lord Buddha is believed to have been born in Lumbini as Prince Sidhartha, when his mother Queen Mayadevi of Kapilbastu stopped to rest on her way to her parent's palace in a neighboring country some 2,600 years ago. 6. Annapurna, Nepal Trekking in Nepal is a wonderful experience. There are a lot of good quality tea houses and accommodation along the trail. Stunning and picturesque scenery, the construction of the road throwing to Manang is changing the culture. 7. Patan Museum, Lalitpur Patan Museum is located in a former palace, this museum is well organized with excellent explanations of ancient history of Nepal, and not overwhelming. Bhaktapur, Khatmandu Valley Khatmandu and Patan, which are located together, the third of the “Royal Cities”, Bhaktapur also located 14 km away, are “outside the holy hollow of the Valley” on the old trade route to Tibet. Its relative remoteness allowed the city to develop independently and in ways which distinguish it from the other two. With farmers, some of the best in the Valley, numbered heavily among its inhabitants, the city is self-supporting. 9. Gorkha, Pokharithok Shahs invaded it in the mid period of 16th century, from west Nepal. Gorkha was usually the seat of the Local Rajas, and they came from Rajasthan. There are no-doubt striking similarities between the Rajasthan’s and the Gurkhas shared, like their military prowess and religious fervor. 10. Janakpur, Dhanusa District Janakpur city, the Headquarter of Dhanusha district of Nepal, is about 400 km south-east of Khatmandu. This is a popular city in the Terai region. Janakpur is also known as Janakpurdham (Dham in Nepali means a scared region) It has a temple named Janaki, which is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Sita. 11.
